  • “COME AND SEE”
  • “COME AND FOLLOW ME”
  • “COME AND REMAIN IN ME”

“The Church or something like it must be cherished, criticized, nourished and reformed. The Church of Jesus Christ, with all its blemishes, its divisions and its failures, remains our best hope of spiritual vitality. However poor it is, life without it is worse.” - Elton Trueblood

  •  JESUS TAUGHT THE DISCIPLES ABOUT RELATIONSHIP
    • “Now I am going to him who sent me, yet none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’ Because I have said these things, you are filled with grief. But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.” - John 16:5-7
  • JESUS TRAINED THE DISCIPLES FOR REPRODUCTION
    • In leadership: moving from Christ leading the apostles to elders leading a congregation.
    • In guidance: moving from Christ’s personal presence to the Holy Spirit’s presence, the ministry of God’s Word, prayer, and the wisdom of others
    • In training: moving from Christ’s preparation of leaders to a community of leaders engaged in developing apprentices
    • In outreach: moving from individual evangelism to evangelistic teamwork
    • In pastoral care: moving from Christ alone meeting people’s needs to Christ meeting needs through gifts of the body.
  • JESUS TRANSFORMED THE DISCIPLES FOR RESPONSIBILITY
    • “If you REMAIN IN ME and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given to you.” – John 15:7
      • “The point of disciplemaking is not a two or three year process of filling in the blanks in several curriculum books. Disciplemaking is a lifetime process of filling in the holes in a life. It is never finished. It is always intentional. It lasts until we go to heaven.” – Bill Hull

Vision: To see equipped members fulfilling the Great Commission.
